Origin at Spring Creek is Bow Valley’s leading independent living, assisted living, and memory care community. Our community is nestled in the luxurious mountain town of Canmore, Alberta, and just a 5-minute walk to downtown, shopping and restaurants.

Origin’s only business is caring for seniors. We design, develop, and operate innovative, industry-leading, active lifestyle communities across Canada.

Founded by People Who Care

Origin Founder, Neil Prashad, was raised by his grandparents who instilled a love and respect for seniors and a passion for caring. Through their encouragement, Neil developed an appreciation for aging adults. Throughout his life, both of Neil’s parents worked in the senior care industry as caregivers. Watching his parents’ triumphs and struggles as team members in this industry drove him to find a better way to care for seniors and the employees at the senior communities.

Family and friends matter greatly to us and are always welcome in our communities. We include our residents’ families in their lives as much as possible. We regularly host special events and activities to bring families & friends closer to our community members and we offer guest meals, guest suites, and other services to accommodate them.

Origin spends more to purchase the industry’s highest quality raw food products. With better ingredients, we develop menu items that are both healthy and tasty. Our goal is to consistently provide families and their guests with meals that are created primarily by using scratch cooking methods. Our chefs are passionate about creating dining experiences and special events such as brunches and themed dinners.

3. Comfortable, Supportive Living

All suites at our communities are designed to maximize the comfort and safety of our residents. We are passionately committed to research and development in the discipline of aging and environmental design. The results are evident in suites and unique common amenity areas which support and enhance an aging lifestyle.

4. Healthy Lifestyle

Full social calendar and engaging activities are at the heart of each Origin community. Our professionally-trained full-time recreation staff is dedicated to ensuring maximum participation in daily events and fitness programs at all Origin Communities. At Origin, we do not take a cookie-cutter approach to decide what residents would like to do and we’re sure to ask them on a regular basis for input into the programs and classes we offer.
